Brett Sacks has had extensive work experience in the banking and finance industry. Brett is currently employed at Riskified as an Account Executive since 2023. Prior to that, Brett worked at Standard Bank Group where they held various roles. From December 2021 to February 2023, they served as the Head of Data Commercialization and Product Management for the Corporate & Investment Bank, Data division. In this position, they developed and managed SaaS B2B and B2C data-led products, defined business requirements and success criteria, and managed budget and resources. From December 2020 to December 2021, Brett was a Senior Product Manager in the same division, responsible for managing the end-to-end process of product development. Before that, from April 2019 to November 2020, they worked in the Trade Finance department as a Transactor, managing sales, product structuring, and relationship management for a portfolio of multinational clients. Prior to that, from March 2017 to April 2019, Brett served as the Head of Risk Optimization for the Risk team, driving digitization and modernization initiatives. Brett also held positions as the Business Manager to the Chief Risk Officer from March 2014 to March 2017 and as a Team Lead and Portfolio Head in Credit Risk from November 2006 to March 2014. Outside of their work experience, Brett took a sabbatical leave from 2011 to 2012 to travel the world.
Brett Sacks has a strong educational background in actuarial science. In 2002, they began their studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Actuarial Science, completing it in 2004. Following this, in 2005, they furthered their expertise in the field by obtaining a BSc (Hons) degree in Advanced Maths of Finance from the same institution. Continuing their education, Brett attended the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries from 2006 to 2020, where they earned the Associate degree in Actuarial Science. Additionally, in January 2020, they obtained the Actuary certification from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
