Simon Ruffle has over 30 years of professional experience in the fields of technology and risk management. Simon began their career in 1983 as a Software Systems Architect and Developer at McDonnell Douglas. In 1987, they were one of the founders of Cambridge Architectural Research Limited (CAR) as a Director. In 1993, they founded CARtograph Ltd as Technical Director, where they developed innovative models for the spatial accumulation management of insurance. In 1997, they joined RMS as Director of Client Services, where they led the team supporting clients in Europe and Bermuda.
From 1999 to 2011, they were a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, and from 2011 to 2015, they were the Director of Research and Innovation, Centre for Risk Studies at Cambridge Judge Business School. In 2015, they became the Chief Operating Officer of a startup company related to the Centre for Risk Studies.
Most recently, in 2021, Simon became the Founder and Chief Product Officer of Risilience Ltd. where they have overall responsibility for the SaaS product. Simon leads the R&D team that encompasses climate science, enterprise risk, software engineering, data science and client solutions.
Simon Ruffle attended the University of Cambridge from 1975 to 1981, where they obtained a MA DipArch in Architecture.
