Winnie Mailu has a diverse work experience in the development sector. Winnie is currently the Head of Thematic Support and Capacity Building at Ripple Effect, where they oversee program work across 6 countries in Africa, with a focus on Agriculture, Enterprise, and Gender. Prior to that, they worked as a Thematic Advisor and later as an Inclusive Markets Advisor at Christian Aid, where they focused on building resilience of communities against poverty-related shocks and stresses through value chain development and support in various commodity sectors. Winnie also worked as a senior advisor at SNV, supporting the development of key agricultural sectors and facilitating knowledge exchange programs. Winnie's work at Caritas involved supporting financial inclusion and designing microfinance programs for rural communities, aiming for social transformation. Overall, they have extensive experience in program management, capacity building, and agricultural development.

Winnie Mailu completed their Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Geography at Egerton University. Winnie pursued further studies in Economics and obtained a Bachelor's degree from the same university. Winnie then went on to attend the University of Dundee, where they studied Economic Development and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Economics.
