Tyrone Sun is an experienced hydrogeologist and engineering manager currently serving as Manager - Hydrogeology at Rio Tinto since February 2023, overseeing a team focused on hydrogeological and hydrological expertise for mine planning and water risk management. Prior to this role, Tyrone held multiple managerial positions at Water Corporation, including Manager - Integrated Water Cycle Planning, where responsibilities included overseeing regional water and wastewater schemes, as well as Manager - Inspection and Condition Assessment and Manager - Design (Treatment Electrical Mechanical & Drafting). Tyrone also contributed to the Southern SeaWater Alliance as Completions Manager and Procurement Lead, and began a career in chemical engineering at Water Corporation. Tyrone holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical from The University of Queensland.
