Mal McGivern is a Senior Hydrogeologist at Rio Tinto since November 2022, with a robust background in hydrogeology spanning over 15 years. Previous roles include Principal Hydrogeologist at Liontown Resources Limited and Acting Section Manager of Groundwater Science at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation. Mal's expertise is further supported by experience as a Sessional Lecturer at The University of Western Australia and various hydrogeologist positions at BHP, Water Corporation, URS Corporation, and hydrosolutions. Mal's educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Hydrogeology from The University of Western Australia and Bachelor degrees in Geology from Curtin University and the University of New England, along with a Certificate IV in Plumbing and Gasfitting from South Metropolitan TAFE.
