Haowei Hsieh has a strong background in software development and architecture, with experience in various industries. Starting in 2001 at Texas A&M University, they worked as a Research Associate and Developer, conducting research and creating software for projects in areas such as Hypertext and Educational Technology. Haowei then joined the University of Iowa in 2007 as an Assistant Professor, where they focused on research, teaching, and development in Human-Centered Computing and Digital Libraries. In 2013, they transitioned to Cengage Learning as a Software Engineer, specializing in web app development using Agile practices and technologies such as JSMVC, MEAN stack, and Graph Database. In 2015, they joined TandemSeven (now Rightpoint) as a Lead Front End Developer and later became a Principal Front End Architect. Here, they provided agile development and consulting services for clients in various industries and developed web apps and interactive style guides using technologies such as ReactJs, Redux, CSS3, GraphQL, Polymer, AngularJs, NodeJs, and Java. Haowei collaborated closely with UX/UI designers to deliver complete experiences. Finally, in 2020, they continued their role as a Frontend Solutions Architect at Rightpoint.
Haowei Hsieh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University. They also have a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Haowei is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Computer Science at Texas A&M University.
