Elizabeth Thornton has a diverse work experience in the field of figure skating. Elizabeth started their career in 2010 as a Coach and Learn2Skate Program Director at the Rochester Figure Skating Club. During this time, they were responsible for coaching and managing the program. In the same year, they also joined the Professional Skaters Association as a Communication and Media Director, where they worked until July 2022. In this role, they were involved in communication and media-related activities within the organization. Most recently, Elizabeth joined Riedell Shoes, Inc. in August 2022 as the Sales and Marketing Director, where they are responsible for overseeing sales and marketing strategies for the company.

Elizabeth Thornton completed their Master of Arts in Strategic Communication Management at Concordia University-St. Paul from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts and Literature Teaching from Winona State University, which they attended from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, Elizabeth has received various certifications, including Certified Group Instructor, Certified Program Director, Certified Synchronized Skating Instructor, Registered Moves in the Field Instructor from the Professional Skaters Association. Elizabeth has also obtained certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED from the American Red Cross, Heads Up Concussion Training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Learn to Skate USA Instructor Certification from Learn to Skate USA, Responsible Conduct of Research from CITI Program, SafeSport Training from the United States Olympic Committee, and Social and Behavioral Research from CITI Program.
