Matt McKimmy is the Head of Product at RideAmigos. Matt previously worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Bethany Theological Seminary from January 2014 to May 2014. There, they taught a new, praxis-oriented course called Emerging Ministries for a Changing Church.
In their role at Bethany, McKimmy developed a 2-week intensive experience that fused contemporary authors from across the Emergence Christianity movement with dialogue sessions featuring persons actively engaged in creative, contextual, 21st-century ministry. Matt's students were encouraged to engage critically and creatively in reflecting on the history, theology, and practice of ministry as the church seeks ways to faithfully follow Christ in our changing world.
After leaving their position at Bethany, McKimmy went on to work as the Director of Support at RideAmigos, a company that helps organizations manage their employee commuting programs. In this role, they help organizations reduce their environmental impact and save money by providing them with the tools they need to encourage their employees to use alternative transportation options.
Matt McKimmy received a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Science & Technology, Religion from Virginia Tech. Matt then went on to receive a M.Div. with a Distinction in Ministry Studies from Bethany Theological Seminary.
