Joe Kavanagh has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joe is currently serving as the President and CEO of Richmond National since February 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Managing Director - Head of Insurance Investment Banking at Compass Point Research & Trading, LLC from September 2017 to February 2021.

From 2003 to 2017, Joe worked at FBR as a Senior Managing Director - Head of Insurance Investment Banking. Before that, they served as the Director - Insurance Investment Banking at Wachovia Corp from May 2000 to May 2003. Joe started their career at Marsh McLennan, where they held the role of Vice President from October 1997 to April 2000.

Joe Kavanagh completed their Bachelor of Science degree at Washington and Lee University from 1985 to 1989. Joe then pursued further education at NYU Stern School of Business, where they earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, General, between 1993 and 1995.
