RA Vernon has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. RA began their career in 1993 as Head of Data Security & Disaster Recovery at Lederle Laboratories. RA then moved on to work as an Associate Director/Information Security Manager at Barclays Capital from 1995 to 1998. In the same year, they also worked as a Sr. Global Security Consultant at IBM. From 1998 to 2002, they served as the Chief Information Security Officer at the City of New York.

In 2002, RA Vernon took on the role of Vice President & Chief Security Officer at Reuters America, before becoming President of Venom Sports in the same year. In 2003, they founded their own company, RA Vernon International, where they served as CEO/President. RA also held the position of President at USA Track & Field - Metropolitan from 2008 to 2011.

RA Vernon's involvement in the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, Inc. began in 2002, where they took on various roles such as 1st Lieutenant Governor, 2nd Lieutenant Governor, and Sports Director - Volleyball. Currently, they are the Director of IT Services at Richmond Community Services, a position they have held since 2010.

RA Vernon's education history includes attending Mercy University, where they studied Computer Information Systems. They also attended Morgan State University, focusing on Tele-Communications.
