Elizabeth Pires-Velez, CPA, CA has over 16 years of work experience in finance and tax. Elizabeth is currently working as the Director of Finance & Tax at Richardson Wealth since December 2019. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Tax at GMP Securities from March 2015 to December 2019. Elizabeth also worked as a Senior Manager of Tax at GMP Securities from October 2010 to March 2015. Elizabeth served as a Tax Manager at Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc. from May 2009 to October 2010. Elizabeth began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a Senior Associate from September 2003 to April 2009.

Elizabeth Pires-Velez, CPA, CA has a diverse education background. Elizabeth obtained their Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Finance from Ryerson University in 2003. Elizabeth then went on to complete the Chartered Accountant program from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) in 2006. Elizabeth further enhanced their expertise by completing the Indepth Tax Course Parts I, II, and III offered by CPA Canada from 2006 to 2011. In 2020, they obtained the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course (PDO) from the Canadian Securities Institute. Elizabeth also holds the certifications of Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant, both obtained from CPA Canada.
