Payal Karumbaiah has a diverse work experience in the field of verification engineering and network testing. Payal started their career at Philips as an intern, working with RESTful APIs in the Data Server team. Payal then joined Cisco Systems India PVT Ltd as a Sanity Test Engineer, where they were responsible for testing network features of Cisco's proprietary NEXUS 7K switches. After that, Payal worked at Ribbon Communications, progressing from a Technical Analyst to a Senior Technical Analyst and eventually a Lead Analyst. Their responsibilities included implementing and testing features of Ribbon's session border controllers, mentoring junior colleagues, and analyzing customer issues.

Payal Karumbaiah completed their schooling at St. Francis Xavier Girls High School in Bangalore from the year 2000 until 2010. Following that, they attended Deeksha center for Learning in Kanakapura, Bangalore, from 2010 to 2012, where they earned their PUC with a focus on PCMC. Later, from 2012 to 2016, Payal pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science at the National Institute Of Engineering in Mysore. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a certification in Cyber Security titled "Cyber Security: From Beginner to Expert" from Udemy in December 2022.
