Stephen Pantano

VP Of Research & Special Projects at Rewiring America

Stephen Pantano has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Stephen is currently working as the Head of Research at Rewiring America since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal at Seva Technology Solutions starting from February 2016.

From May 2011 to February 2022, Stephen served as the Chief Research Officer at CLASP. During their tenure, they led global research activities focused on energy efficient appliances to mitigate climate change and promote renewable energy access. Stephen established CLASP as a thought leader in energy efficiency and developed analytical models to evaluate the greenhouse gas reduction potential of energy efficiency measures.

Before joining CLASP, Stephen worked as a Forensic Engineer at TRIPOS Enterprises from October 2014 to April 2021. Stephen was responsible for investigating and analyzing engineering failures and providing expert opinions.

From September 2008 to April 2011, Stephen worked as a Senior Manager at ICF International. Stephen'srole involved leading the development of ENERGY STAR specifications for various electronic devices and consulting the EPA on emerging technologies in commercial lighting systems.

Prior to joining ICF International, Stephen worked as a Lead Consultant at Blue Slate Solutions from June 2007 to September 2008. Stephen managed a consulting project for a regional Medicare benefits administration company and delivered a highly-automated technology solution.

Stephen's earlier experiences include working at Plug Power, Inc. as a Market Analyst, Process & Planning Manager, and Product Assurance Engineer from June 2004 to June 2007. Stephen designed economic models for fuel cell product markets and managed the development of a 5kW fuel cell system for remote backup power applications.

Stephen also worked at Orbital Sciences Corp. as an Integration & Test Engineer and Systems Safety Engineer from May 2001 to June 2004. In these roles, they assembled and tested hardware for the Space Shuttle Flight Support System and served as a safety engineer for hardware used on the Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Missions.

Stephen's career began as a Mechanical Engineer at Imperium Inc., where they designed and built a medical imaging system and developed ultrasonic camera prototypes for nondestructive evaluation of composite materials from January 1999 to May 2001.

Stephen Pantano earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1999. Stephen then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School in 2003.
