Martin Johnston started their career as a Graphic Designer at County Antrim Post from December 2014 to June 2015. Martin then worked as an Assistant Project Manager at AJ MCCANN CONSULTANTS LTD from October 2016 to March 2017. Martin had a brief role as a Web and Graphic Designer at The Concept Group from March 2017 to May 2017. Following that, they took a career break and travelled from June 2017 to July 2018. Martin then joined Deloitte UK's NI Tech Academy in January 2019 and worked there until May 2021. Martin continued their career as a Frontend Developer at Deloitte Digital from April 2019 to May 2021. Currently, Martin is working as a Frontend Developer at Reward starting from May 2021.

Martin Johnston attended Ulster University from 2012 to 2016, where they pursued a degree in Interactive Multimedia Design. Prior to that, they attended St. Patrick's College Maghera from 2010 to 2012. Martin began their education at St. Benedict's College Randalstown in 2004 and completed their studies there in 2009. In terms of additional certifications, Martin obtained an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Web Accessibility in February 2023. Martin also earned an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2019. Moreover, Martin completed a course called The Digital Garage, offered by Google, although the exact completion month and year are not specified.
