Mariko Ando Katsumura is an accomplished journalist currently serving as a Correspondent at the Thomson Reuters Breaking News Hub since July 2023 and as an Editor at the Reuters News Agency's Breaking News Desk since 2022. Previous experience includes a Correspondent role at Reuters from 2004 to 2011, covering equities news in Tokyo, as well as serving as a News Reporter for CBS MarketWatch from 1999 to 2003, focusing on Japanese financial markets. Additional experience includes a short tenure as a TV News Intern at Bloomberg News and an internship at JIJI PRESS LIMITED in 1999. Mariko began their career as a Flight Attendant with Virgin Atlantic Airways, where promotion to Senior Cabin Attendant occurred in 1995. Mariko holds a Master of Arts in International Journalism from City, University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Aoyama Gakuin University.
