After that, they worked as an intern at Al Jazeera English, where they researched story ideas and contributed to news bulletins. Angie Wee Ping then joined The Associated Press as a News Assistant, covering various news stories and working on customer service and live broadcasting during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In 2009, Angie joined Reuters News Agency as a Video Journalist, responsible for covering Malaysia and Brunei.
