Ron Schaaper is an accomplished horn player with extensive experience in various ensembles. Currently, Ron is a member of the Orlando Quintet since January 2008, performing woodwind quintet pieces and arrangements of string quartets. Additionally, Ron has been with Nieuw Amsterdams Peil since January 2006, focusing on new music compositions. As the first horn player for the Residentie Orkest/The Hague Philharmonic and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, a position held since August 2004 and August 2003 respectively, Ron contributes significantly to both groups through a diverse range of roles, including playing guitar, banjo, and singing. Previous experience includes serving as the first horn for the Radio Symfonie Orkest Hilversum from January 2002 to June 2004. Ron holds a Bachelor of Music in French horn performance from HKU and a teaching degree from the Conservatory Utrecht.
