Dave Ratcliff

Dave Ratcliff has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Dave currently works at ResFrac Corporation as the Director of User Success and Petrophysicist, Reservoir and Completions Simulation Engineer. In this role, they assist clients with petrophysical and geomechanical modeling, optimizing future completions, and providing software tutoring and integration within their company.

Prior to their current role, Dave worked at QEP Resources as the Petrophysical Manager and Staff Petrophysicist. Dave was responsible for developing robust petrophysical models in various US onshore plays and evaluating and acquiring properties in the Permian Basin.

Before joining QEP Resources, Dave worked at Forest Oil Corporation as a Senior Petrophysicist, where they provided petrophysical support for all business units and worked on integrating technologies throughout the company's assets to maximize recovery. Dave also worked as a Petrophysicist, performing new well planning and bidding of logging programs.

Dave began their career at Schlumberger, where they held various roles, including Design Evaluation Engineer/Sales Engineer, Operations Manager, and Field Engineer. Dave gained experience in open and cased hole operations in different locations.

Prior to their career in the oil and gas industry, Dave owned and operated Aero Colours, a franchise specializing in onsite exterior automotive repair and touch-up.

Dave Ratcliff attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
