David O'Brien is currently the Policy Director and previously served as Policy Counsel at RepresentUs since October 2020. O'Brien has extensive experience in legal roles, including serving as Legal Editor for The Daily Washington Law Reporter since January 2013, and as a Staff Attorney at FairVote from June 2017 to October 2020, where O'Brien also held the position of Legal Fellow. O'Brien's earlier positions include Senate Legal Counsel for the Senate of the Republic of Palau and Chair of the Palau National Code Commission. Additional legal experience encompasses roles at Morris Hardwick Schneider, The Constitution Project, Office of the Public Defender Maryland, City of Parma Law Department, and Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic. O'Brien holds a Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (2011) and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical and Near Eastern Studies from Creighton University (2007).
