Hong Zhao has a diverse background in analytical development, with experience in both the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Currently, Zhao is the Associate Director and Director of Analytical Development at Repare Therapeutics, where they oversee analytical activities for drug substance and drug product in clinical development and commercial manufacturing. Additionally, they manage external manufacturing and testing sites, ensure regulatory compliance, and represent the analytical function on cross-functional teams. Prior to this role, Zhao held positions at Cyclerion Therapeutics, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Pharmalytica Services LLC, and Xiamen University, where they gained expertise in analytical development, method validation, instrument qualification, and enzyme research.

Hong Zhao earned a BS and MS in Chemistry from Xiamen University from 1988 to 1995. Later, from 1998 to 2004, Hong Zhao pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Chemistry.
