Marco Afonso has over 20 years of work experience, beginning in 1990 with South African Airways as an Analyst Programmer. Marco then worked as an Assistant Manager at Nando's Canada from 1994 to 1997, followed by a Sales Associate role at Hudson's Bay Company from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, they moved to UPS as a Warehouse Clerk and then to Top Producer Systems as a Software Test Engineer in 2000. From 2004 to 2009, they worked at Neoteric Technology LTD as an SQA Lead, and then moved to Haemonetics as an SQA Team Lead from 2009 to 2017. Most recently, they have been a Senior QA Analyst at letus (previously RentMoola) since 2021.

Marco Afonso attended Compucollege School of Business from 1999 to 2000, where they obtained a Diploma in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.
