Jacob Hanna has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and academia. In 1998, they started their career as an MD PhD Student at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and continued until 2007. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow in the Jaenisch Lab at the Whitehead Institute. In 2011, they joined the Weizmann Institute of Science, initially as an Assistant Professor until 2018, and subsequently as an Associate Professor with Tenure. In 2022, Jacob Hanna founded Renewal Bio and currently serves as the Founder and Chief Scientific Advisor.
Jacob Hanna earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from The Lautenberg Center for General and Tumor Immunology at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, from 2001 to 2007. Jacob also obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Clinical Medicine from Hadassah Medical School at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, from 1998 to 2007. Before pursuing higher education, Jacob attended Hanna Moueis High School in Rama Village from 1991 to 1997, where they focused on high school studies and majored in Math and Computer Sciences. Jacob has additional certifications as an Israeli Medical Board Certified professional from the Ministry of Health Israel and as a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons, although specific dates for obtaining these certifications are not provided.
