Ilya Fligelman has a diverse work experience in the laboratory field. They started their career as a Lab Assistant at Biodiagnostic Labs, Inc in August 2015 and worked there until March 2018. In March 2018, they joined LabCorp as a Cytogenetic Technologist, where their responsibilities included setting up cell cultures, isolating metaphase chromosomes, and slide making and staining. After working at LabCorp for nine months, Ilya joined RenalytixAI in December 2018 as an Analytical Laboratory Associate. They eventually progressed to become the Laboratory Group Lead in November 2020.

Ilya Fligelman completed a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at Hunter College from 2011 to 2015. Ilya then pursued another Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist at the same institution from 2019 to 2021. In February 2022, they obtained the certification of Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist from the New York State Education Department.
