Full Stack Engineer at Remotion

Fernando Barbat has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Fernando started their career as a C# Developer at CCC Medical Devices, where they developed UI components for an in-house UI framework. Fernando then worked at INIA Uruguay as a GIS Developer, where they designed and implemented an exploratory Geographical Information System. At Scanntech, they held roles as a Java Developer and later as a Senior Full-Stack Developer, working on projects related to POS integration and electronic billing.

After their time at Scanntech, Fernando joined Optiva Inc. as a Java Chief Software Architect, where they took on a leadership role in software architecture. Currently, they are working as a Full Stack Engineer at Remotion, where they contribute to the development of various aspects of the app, including the native macOS app user interface, low-level macOS audio, and the Firebase/GCP backend.

Throughout their career, Fernando has gained expertise in a wide range of technologies, including Swift, AppKit, C++, CoreAudio, native webRTC, Agora, Typescript, Node, Java, GWT, GXT, OpenLayers, Glassfish, GeoServer, PostGIS, C#, WPF, and Windows Forms.

Fernando Barbat attended Universidad de la República from 2006 to 2012, where they obtained a degree in Software Engineering, specializing in Computer and Information Sciences. Additionally, they have earned multiple certifications from Coursera, including "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Production," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Workloads," "Building Scalable Java Microservices with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud," "Specialization - Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine," "Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine: Foundations," "GCP App Deployment, Debugging, and Performance," "Getting Started With GCP Application Development," "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure," "Securing and Integrating Components of your GCP Application," and "Specialization - Developing Applications with Google Cloud Platform" in the year 2019.
