Florian Savoy has a diverse work experience in the field of AI and computer vision. Florian started their career as a Software Developer at AVASAD in 2012, where they designed a web application for the HR department. After that, they joined the Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC) in 2013 and worked as a Software Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer. At ADSC, Florian researched computer vision algorithms and was responsible for technical development for a project with eight researchers. In 2017, Florian became an EFSG2 Fellow at Entrepreneur First before co-founding a MedTech AI startup called Medios Technologies. As the CTO and Co-Founder, they led the development of a deep learning solution for diabetic retinopathy detection. Florian sold the company to a hardware partner two years later. Currently, they are working as the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Remidio Innovative Solutions Pvt. Ltd, where they are responsible for establishing and leading the AI department. Florian focuses on developing AI-based ophthalmic screening solutions for low-cost portable retinal cameras. Overall, Florian has extensive experience in AI, computer vision, and MedTech startups.
Florian Savoy completed their education at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Florian earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Communication Systems from 2008 to 2011. Florian then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Communication Systems from 2011 to 2013 at the same institution.
In addition to their formal education, Florian Savoy obtained various certifications. These include "Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials" from Coursera in March 2021, "Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) Specialization" from Coursera in December 2020, and "AI for Medicine Specialization" from Coursera in September 2020.
Other certifications include "Understanding Clinical Research: Behind the Statistics" from Coursera in November 2018, "Deep Learning Specialization" from Coursera in April 2018, and "Functional Programming in Scala Specialization" from Coursera in May 2017. Florian also completed the "Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship" course, which earned him a Coursera Verified Certificate in September 2014.
Furthermore, Florian Savoy obtained the "Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals" certification from Coursera in August 2017. Florian also participated in the ICVSS - International Computer Vision Summer School in July 2015 and the VISVA - IEEE SPS Winter School on Visual Image Search and Visual Analytics, organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, in December 2014.
