Philip Ittmann has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Philip is currently working as a System Performance Engineer at RelationalAI since July 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Lead Data Engineer at Paystack from February 2021 to June 2022.
Before joining Paystack, Philip worked at takealot.com, where they held two positions. First, as a Data Engineer from April 2020 to January 2021, and then as a Machine Learning Engineer from October 2018 to April 2020.
Philip also gained extensive experience in academia during their time as a Doctoral Student at the University of Cape Town from February 2014 to October 2018. Philip also worked as a Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal from February 2012 to June 2013.
In addition to their academic background, Philip has worked as a Data Scientist/Analyst on a freelance basis from January 2017 to September 2018. Philip also worked as a Researcher at Chillisoft Software Solutions from June 2013 to May 2014.
Philip's early career included roles such as a Trainee Logistician at Long Supply Chain Consultants from May 2011 to August 2011, and a Part-time Teacher at Thomas More College from January 2006 to July 2006.

Philip Ittmann began their education in 2005 at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering. Philip completed this program in the same year. In the following years from 2006 to 2008, Philip continued their studies at the same university, focusing on Mathematics and Statistics. Philip earned a Bachelor of Science degree in this field. In 2009, they pursued an additional degree, a Bachelor of Science Honours in Mathematics, completing it within the year. Philip furthered their education in 2010 by enrolling at the University of KwaZulu-Natal again, this time pursuing a Master of Science degree in Mathematics before completing it in 2011.
