Ioannis Loukas

Functional Genomics Scientist at Relation Therapeutics

Ioannis Loukas has had experience working at Relation Therapeutics as a Functional Genomics Scientist starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The Francis Crick Institute as a Researcher PHD Student from 2017 to 2023 where they focused on characterizing the functional impact of inactivating mutations in epigenetic regulators during cancer evolution, utilizing a range of techniques including CRISPR screens and single-cell transcriptomics. Ioannis Loukas also has experience working as a Research Intern and MSc student at the University of Patras from 2014 to 2017 and as a Research Intern and BSc student from 2013 to 2014.

Ioannis Loukas earned their Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Patras in 2014. Ioannis then pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences with specialization in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at the same university from 2014 to 2017. Ioannis is currently a PhD candidate with a focus on Cancer Epigenetics at Imperial College London, where they have been studying since 2017.
