Peter Sweeney currently serves as the Commissioner of Community Services for the Region of Waterloo, a position held since June 2022. Previously, Peter held the role of CEO at the YMCA of Three Rivers from October 2020 to June 2022 and served as CEO for the YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener-Waterloo from September 2016 to October 2020. Peter's extensive leadership experience also includes presidencies at St. Joseph's Health System - International Outreach Program and St. Mary's General Hospital Foundation, where tenure spanned from September 2010 to August 2016 and March 2001 to August 2016, respectively. Earlier in their career, Peter was the Manager of Communications at Skills Canada - Ontario. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, a PRC in Public Relations from Humber College, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Waterloo.
