Sharon Clough has over 30 years of experience in the higher education industry. Sharon began their career in 1989 as Corporate Director of Financial Aid and Compliance at TESST, where they successfully transitioned all Title IV processing in-house from a third party servicer. In 2002, they moved to Kaplan Higher Education as Financial Aid Training and Institutional Support Manager, where they serviced and guided more than 70 colleges in support of their service to students. Sharon then joined Laureate Higher Education Group in 2007 as Executive Director of Financial Aid and Compliance for US Campuses, where they identified financial aid directors for hire, trained financial aid directors and staff, and developed and implemented metric reporting and accountabilities. In 2011, they joined Regent Education as Vice President of Financial Aid Compliance and a member of Regent’s product management team, where they provided Federal Student Aid regulatory and operational guidance internally and to clients making product implementation decisions. Since 2014, they have been working as Grants Coordinator and Volunteer at the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County.
Sharon Clough completed their Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Maryland. Sharon then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Managerial Leadership from National Louis University between 1986 and 1998. From 2008 to 2011, they completed their Doctoral Coursework in Higher Education/Higher Education Leadership at Walden University. Additionally, Sharon Clough has obtained a number of certifications from the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), including the Gainful Employment Credential (2017), Consumer Information Credential (2016), Administrative Capability Credential (2015), Campus-Based Programs Credential (2015), Cash Management Credential (2015), Federal Methodology Credential (2015), Professional Judgment Credential (2015), Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants Credential (2015), Verification Credential (2015), Direct Loans Credential (2015), Federal Pell Grant Credential (2015), Packaging and Notification of Awards Credential (2015), Satisfactory Academic Progress Credential (2015), Student Eligibility Credential (2015), Return of Title IV Funds Credential (2015), Cost of Attendance Credential (2014), and Application Process Credential (2014).
