Ron Dinwiddie, is a senior-level technology executive (MBA, PMP), with more than 20 years of product development and product management experience within diverse industry sectors, and is regarded as an expert in education technologies.
Previously, Ron served as CTO for Purposely Inc., directly responsible for all product development activities as well as network infrastructure and cloud technologies. Purposely is dedicated to the future of higher education providing institutions with solutions to drive, support and track students' efforts in obtaining gainful employment throughout their educational experience. Higher education institutions implementing The Career Platform help retain students, gain valuable employment data for internal and governmental use coupled with insight to their students. Colleges and Universities with The Career Platform provide for students by directly supporting their ability to obtain career opportunities matching education, skill sets, experience and desires.
Prior to Purposely, Ron served as an Executive Consultant acting as the VP of Product Management for Carnegie Learning. Ron has assumed a leadership role for product management/development and is currently providing direction and strategies on delivering their next generation platform for adaptive learning. Ron works closely with the executive team on product road-map and implementation strategies.
Prior to Carnegie Learning, Ron was the CTO at J. Spargo & Associates and directed product development activities and the network infrastructure of event management technologies supporting hundreds of shows per year and thousands of attendees. His technological background and expertise in strategic planning fostered improvements in business operations necessary to achieve the company's long-range objectives for growth and profitability. Ron was also the PCI Officer for J. Spargo and ensured that all systems and processes follow the standards defined by PCI-DSS.
Prior to J. Spargo, Ron launched a company specializing in social ticketing, stored value, loyalty, card management, attendee relationship management, and attendee intelligence. He also led product management and product development for Blackboard Inc. With Blackboard, Ron developed eLearning and Campus ID card products/solutions for colleges and universities. These technologies enabled keyless and cashless environments to increase convenience and reduce overhead and enhanced the classroom experience through blending technologies with course curriculum to improve the overall classroom outcomes. Ron led strategic partnerships that extended ecommerce technology throughout and beyond the campus.
A native of Arizona, he earned a MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in computer information systems and justice studies from Arizona State University. Ron holds several professional designations and is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Product Development and Management Association.
