Michael Hendricks has a diverse work experience. Michael currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer at ReGeneration Schools since 2022. Prior to this, they held various positions at Achievement First, including Regional Superintendent from 2019 to 2022, Principal Manager from 2018 to 2019, Founding Principal from 2014 to 2019, and Principal-in-Residence in 2013. Michael also worked as the Founding Assistant Principal/Director of School Culture at East Harlem Scholars Academy from 2011 to 2013. Before transitioning into education, they worked as a Spanish and Social Studies Teacher at Thurgood Marshall Academy from 2007 to 2011. Michael started their career as a Paralegal Specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice from 2006 to 2007 and earlier as a Teacher at Rock Creek International School from 2005 to 2006.
Michael Hendricks has a Bachelor's degree in Government and Spanish from Georgetown University, which they attained between 2002 and 2006. Michael went on to pursue a Master's degree in Secondary Social Studies and Spanish at American University from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, Michael enrolled at Teachers College, Columbia University, where they completed a Master's degree in Public School Building Leadership in 2011.
