Denise Locke has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Denise started their career at HSBC in 1997, where they held various roles, including Product Accountant and Assistant Manager. Denise then joined BMCE Bank International in 2007, where they worked as a Manager and later became the Head of Financial & Management Accounting. In 2015, Denise joined C&C - Where inspiration lives as the Head of Finance. Denise then joined SPANA in 2018, where they held multiple roles such as Financial Controller, Acting Director of Finance, Associate Director Special Projects, and Head of Finance and Compliance. Currently, Denise is working at Refuge as the Head of Finance.

Denise Locke's education history includes a recent Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from Henley Business School, obtained in the years 2021-2022. Before that, Denise pursued studies at ACCA, although the specific time frame and degree obtained are unknown. Prior to their enrollment at ACCA, Denise attended Chatham Grammar School for Girls.

In addition to their formal education, Denise has obtained several certifications. These include a Change Management Practitioner certification from APMG International in January 2020, a Change Management Foundation certification from APMG International in December 2019, a Lean Six Sigma Yellow & Green Belt certification from The Knowledge Academy in May 2019, and a Certified Action Learning Coach (CALC) certification from the World Institute for Action Learning - WIAL in August 2017. Denise also holds a certificate as a Mental Health First Aider, obtained from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England, although the specific timing of this certification is unknown.
