Michael Schmitt has extensive experience in systems engineering and administration, currently serving as Manager of Systems Engineering at Redwood Trust, Inc. since December 2015, where previous roles included Lead System Engineer and Senior System Engineer. Prior to Redwood Trust, Michael worked as a Consultant - IT Systems Engineer Lead at Progressive Insurance and held senior roles at Troppus Software and CNO Financial Group among others. Michael's career began with positions at Sallie Mae, T-Systems, Fifth Gear, and Conseco, showcasing a strong background in system architecture and administration. Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Indianapolis, following studies at Purdue University.
