James Collett has extensive work experience in the field of software development and engineering. James started their career at SD-Scicon in 1990, where they worked as a Programmer developing software in C for the Police and Air Traffic Services. From 1992 to 1996, they worked at EDS as an Analyst/Programmer in Air Traffic Control simulation systems. After EDS acquired SD-Scicon, they continued their role at EDS.
In 1996, James joined Silicon Valley Systems as a Senior Software Engineer. James was involved in software design and development across all phases of the software lifecycle. James also had long-term client site work experience, including a 22-month stint at T-Mobile and one year at PLAN International. During this time, they concurrently worked as a Software Developer at T-Mobile, as part of the team at Silicon Valley Systems.
From 2001 to 2009, James started their own company called JSC Solutions. It primarily offered services in web development, IT & database development, networking solutions, domain names, web hosting, broadband, and email.
In 2002, James briefly worked at PSH Software Ltd as a Software Developer. James then joined X-Net Solutions Ltd in 2003 as a Senior Consultant. James'sresponsibilities included software design & development, on-site consulting & support, presentations, and training. James worked on custom-built data collection and IVR applications and integrated various internal business systems to improve processes.
Finally, since 2009, James has been working at Redwood Technologies Ltd as a Senior Applications Engineer. James'srole involves enhancing existing applications, writing technical specifications, developing new applications, and providing technical support in the telecommunications industry. James has expertise in web applications using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, WordPress, and MySQL.
James Collett's education history is as follows:
From 1988 to 1990, they attended the University of Wales where they obtained an MSc degree in Computer Science. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1988, they studied at Durham University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. From 1979 to 1985, they attended Dr Challoner's Grammar School for Boys in Amersham and achieved 'A' levels in Maths, Further maths, Physics, Chemistry. James also earned an 'S' Level in Mathematics during their time there.
Additionally, in 1977 and 1979, they attended St Pauls RC School in Haywards Heath, but did not obtain a degree as they were only 10 years old at that time. It's worth noting that their field of study during this period was simply stated as "Smoking behind the bike sheds. I wish."
Furthermore, in 2015, they obtained a certification in ISTQB - BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
