Hiromu Sugiyama has a comprehensive work experience in the field of battery materials and development. Hiromu is currently serving as the Director of Battery Materials Technology at Redwood Materials since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Albemarle Corporation from 2020 to 2021 as the Technical Sales & New Business Development Manager. Hiromu'sprevious experiences include positions at BASF, where they held various roles including Senior Manager, Country Development (2019-2020), Senior Professional, BASF New Business (2017-2019), and Senior Professional, Battery Materials Laboratory (2014-2017). Before joining BASF, Sugiyama worked at Covestro as an Innovation Manager from 2010 to 2014. Hiromu'searlier experiences include positions at Hitachi Maxell Ltd. as a Manager, Senior Engineer of Product Development (2010), Senior Engineer of Product Development (2009-2010), Engineer of Product Development (2008-2009), and Researcher (2001-2007). Hiromu also worked as a Technical Sales Engineer at Maxell Corporation of America from 2000 to 2001 and as a Researcher at Battery Engineering Inc. from 1999 to 2000. Sugiyama began their career as a Researcher at Hitachi Maxell Ltd. from 1997 to 1999. Overall, Sugiyama has extensive experience in battery materials technology, sales, new business development, and innovation management.

Hiromu Sugiyama earned a Master's degree in Functional Material from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. They do not have any additional certifications at this time.
