Dr. Pete earned their Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in Cybersecurity from Capitol Technology University in 2014-2015. Prior to that, they pursued a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) degree in Information Systems Management at Walden University from 2011 to 2014.

In 1996-1997, Dr. Dowdy completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Resource Management at Troy University. Before that, they graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1994-1996.
