Sarah Wynn, CISSP, PMP, has extensive work experience in the cybersecurity field. Sarah currently works as a Technical Program Manager at RedSeal, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this, Sarah held the position of Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at the University of Maryland Global Campus from June 2020 onwards. In this role, they taught various cybersecurity courses and collaborated with the Cybersecurity Program Director to develop and improve the curriculum.
Before their position at the University of Maryland, Sarah worked as a Senior Cyber Security Program Manager at Maximus from October 2018 to April 2022. In this role, they led teams in supporting the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation Office of the Secretary of Transportation (DOT OST) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Sarah ensured compliance with NIST standards, conducted security assessments, and implemented risk management and incident response strategies. Sarah also developed training programs and policies related to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Prior to Maximus, Sarah worked briefly as a Senior Technical Program Manager at NikSoft Systems Corporation in 2018. From 2014 to 2018, they held the position of Cyber Security Director/Special Security Officer at the Department of the Navy, where they were responsible for overseeing cyber security operations. Sarah also served as an Information Assurance/Cyber Security Manager at the Department of the Navy from 2012 to 2014.
Earlier in their career, Sarah worked as a Senior Information Security Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton from June 2006 to October 2012. Sarah began their career in 1997 as a Cryptologic Technician Interpretive in the US Navy, where they focused on translation and interpretation of classified communications in Korean and Spanish. Throughout their career, Sarah has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and curriculum development.
Sarah Wynn, CISSP, PMP, has a diverse educational background and a strong focus on information technology and leadership. Sarah obtained their Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) from Grand Canyon University between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Management and Leadership at Liberty University from 2013 to 2014.
Before pursuing their master's degrees, Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English from Chaminade University of Honolulu from 2003 to 2005. Sarah also holds an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Korean from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, which they obtained from 2001 to 2003.
In addition to their educational achievements, Sarah has obtained certifications in the field of customer success management. Sarah is an Advanced Customer Success Manager Certified Professional and a Customer Success Manager Certified Professional, both from Gainsight. These certifications were obtained in April 2022.
