English As A Second Language And ELL Teacher at Redondo Beach Unified School District

Amelia Ferro has a diverse work experience in the education field. Amelia started their career in 2005 as a Substitute Teacher at Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, where they maintained discipline and implemented lesson plans. In 2007, they joined Redondo Beach Unified School District as an English as a Second Language and ELL Teacher, where they prepared students in English and adapted teaching methods to meet their needs. Amelia also served as the Even Start Family Literacy Program Director, coordinating program implementation and managing personnel. In 2013, Amelia joined Chadwick School as an Assistant to the Directors of Risk Management, Transportation, and Global Programs, and was also involved in Global & Outdoor Education Programs. Currently, in 2021, they work as an English Second Language Teacher at Brockton Public Schools.

Amelia Ferro has a diverse educational background. Amelia obtained their Associate's degree in Computer Science-Programming and Data Processing from Massasoit Community College in the years 1982-1985. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from UMass Boston, specializing in Human Services, from 1991-1993. Amelia continued their education and completed a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education, focusing on Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instruction, at UMass Boston between 1998-2000. Additionally, they attended California State University-Dominguez Hills from 2009-2013 and earned a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, with a field of study encompassing English Language, Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills, Communication, and Computer Applications.

Amelia Ferro also holds various certifications. Amelia is a holder of a Substitute Teacher Credential in California, obtained from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in January 2013. Amelia is also certified in Adult-Child-Infant-2 Rescuer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation from Safetynet CPR. Furthermore, they possess California Teaching Credentials that authorize their to teach English as a Second Language, Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills, Communication Skills, and Computer Applications.
