Neil Slater has a diverse and extensive work experience. Neil started their career as a Graduate Tax Analyst at Arthur Andersen in 1999. Neil then worked as a Solicitor at Addleshaw Goddard from 2002 to 2004, and as a Securitisation and Finance Tax Associate at Weil Gotshal and Manges from 2004 to 2005.
In 2005, Neil joined Man Investments as a Senior Structurer and Head of Product Finance & Risk Transfer, where they worked until 2011. During their time at Man Investments, they gained expertise in structuring and risk management.
From 2011 to 2019, Neil worked at abrdn, holding various roles such as Head of Product Finance & Structuring - Real Estate, Real Estate Debt Fund Manager and Head of Product Finance & Structuring - Real Estate, CEO & Representative Director of Standard Life Investments Japan, and Global Head of Real Estate & Global Head of Real Assets. Their responsibilities at abrdn included managing real estate funds, leading product finance and structuring, and serving as a CEO and representative director.
Since 2022, Neil has been working as the Chairperson at LandAid, a non-profit organization focused on tackling youth homelessness in the UK.
In 2023, Neil is set to become the Chief Executive Officer of Redevco, a real estate investment company.
Overall, Neil Slater has a strong background in real estate, finance, risk management, and leadership roles.
Neil Slater received their MA (Hons) in History from the University of St Andrews in 1999. Neil then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from The College of Law in 2001, followed by a Legal Practice Course from BPP Law School in 2002. In 2006, they obtained an MBA (Finance Professionals) from Alliance Manchester Business School. Recently, in 2019, they completed the Advanced Management Program from MIT Sloan School of Management and also participated in the Entrepreneurship Development Program at the same institution.
