Ben Aylett has held a variety of roles in the IT industry since 2005. From 2005 to 2008, they were the Owner/Technician at EZiWireless, providing IT consulting, project support, field support, broadcasting, web development, customer advocacy, database design and programming, and network design, deployment and management. From 2008 to 2010, they were an ATM Field Engineer at Best-IT, coordinating and providing field support servicing branch and remote automatic teller machines around Western Australia. From 2010 to 2018, they were the IT General Management in Australia for Gavilon Group, LLC, where they were the first point of contact for IT related business for the organisation in the Asia Pacific Region. From 2007 to 2011, they were a Contract IT Consultant at OrangeTee, where they were the main point of contact for IT support for the entire organisation from the head office to the branch offices across Australia. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Technology Commentator at Fairfax Media, Network Ten, and Seven Network, where they reported and gave opinion on current events within the IT industry and participated in discussion with listeners in a talkback radio format. Since 2018, they have been the Chief Information Security Officer at Romteck Australia Pty Ltd, taking an active role in assisting Romteck meet the increasing demands on Information Security in the IoT space. Since 2020, they have been a Product Manager at Red Piranha.

Ben Aylett has a varied educational background. In 2019, they completed a CISSP Security degree at Charles Sturt University in the field of Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. From 1990 to 1994, they attended TAFE NSW and obtained an Ass Dip App Sc in Infomation Technology (Programming). Ben also attended Newman College from 1984 to 1987. Finally, they attended Karrinyup Primary School.
