Sergio Villafane has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. In 2017, they worked part-time as a Cashier/Food Prep at T&J Waffles Food Truck. In 2018, they were a High School Technical Intern at Northrop Grumman. Sergio continued their internship at Northrop Grumman in 2019 as a College Technical Intern. From August 2019 to December 2021, they worked at Mount St. Mary's University as a Networking Department Student Worker, where they handled various responsibilities related to log management, encryption, VM configuration, API querying, scripting, data analysis, and cybersecurity. In 2020, they had two additional internships at Northrop Grumman, both as a College Technical Intern. In 2021, they had a College Technical Internship at Peraton. Currently, Sergio is employed at Red Alpha as a Software Engineer and starting in May 2023, they will transition into the role of Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist.

Sergio Villafane's education history begins with their high school diploma, which they obtained from Mount Saint Joseph High School between the years 2014 and 2018. Sergio then pursued further education at Mount St. Mary's University from 2018 to 2021, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Computer Science. As a minor, Sergio also studied Data Science during their time at the university.

In addition to their formal education, Sergio obtained a certification in CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in July 2022.
