Brad Mertz has a diverse work experience. Brad started their career as a Marketing/Public Sector Manager at BFI from 1997 to 2001. Brad then worked as an Associate Athletic Director at Utah Valley University from 2004 to 2012, specializing in development for athletics. From 2012 to 2017, they served as the Assistant Dean, Major Gifts at Utah Valley University's Woodbury School of Business. After that, they worked as the Director of Equity at PEG Development in 2017, and as Vice President of Business Development at Rustica Hardware from 2018 to 2019. Brad was also a Partner at Atomic Ventures from 2018 to 2019, before becoming the Principal at MultiGreen Properties in 2019. Brad Mertz currently holds the position of Executive Director at the Recycling Coalition of Utah.

Brad Mertz holds a Master of Public Administration degree (MPA) from Brigham Young University, which they obtained from 1992 to 1994. Brad also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Facility Management from the same institution, studying from 1988 to 1992. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained a certification as a Registered Representative from FINRA in 2017.
