Daniella Ishimaru, PhD has worked in the field of science for over 17 years. Daniella began their career in 2003 as an Associate Researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. After a year, they moved to The Salk Institute for Biological Studies as a Postdoctoral Researcher. In 2006, they joined Medical University of South Carolina as a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Researcher, where they demonstrated a mode of recognition by protein containing multiple RNA-binding domains, targeted TGF\u03b2-induced, hnRNPE1-regulated translation with small molecules, and selectively targeted biogenesis of oncogenic miRNAs with small molecules. In 2016, they moved to TranscripTx, Inc as a Senior Scientist and in 2020, they joined ReCode Therapeutics as a Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist.
Daniella Ishimaru received their PhD in biochemistry and biophysics from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2003. Prior to that, they earned their MS in genetics from the same university in 1999.
