Starosyla Sergii has been working in the field of medicinal chemistry and machine learning since 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Medicinal Chemist and Chemoinformatics at OTAVA Ltd, where they were involved in drug design projects and the development of target-focused libraries of chemical compounds. Starosyla also developed ligand- and receptor-based methods of virtual screening, algorithms of pharmacophore modeling, and machine learning models. From 2015 to 2021, they worked as a Research Scientist and Junior Research Scientist at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine. During this time, they developed machine learning models and algorithms for pharmacophore modelling and molecular docking, as well as designed highly active and specific inhibitors of protein kinases ASK1, FGFR1 and CK2. Since 2021, they have been working as CTO & Co-Founder and Machine Learning Engineer & Co-Founder at RECEPTOR.AI, where they are responsible for building a technical strategy of the company and coordinating the work of the development team and scientific researchers. Starosyla is also meeting with scientific and research organizations to get started collaborations and projects, and developing machine learning models for ongoing drug discovery projects.
Starosyla Sergii obtained a Master's degree in High Technologies from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2012. Starosyla then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Molecular Biology from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, which they completed in 2017.
