Matt Wieland has worked in a variety of roles in the past decade. Matt began their career in 2011 as a Language Arts Teacher at Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191. In 2014, they moved to North Clackamas School District to continue teaching Language Arts, while also taking on the role of Wagon Wordsmith at Wagon Wine. In 2015, they became a Contributing Writer for Wine Tourist Magazine, as well as Communications & National Sales Manager for Fullerton Wines. In 2018, they added Wine Writer for The Growler Magazine to their repertoire. Most recently, in 2022, they took on the role of Content Marketing Manager at Recast Software and Marketing Specialist at ECMC Education.

Matt Wieland obtained a Bachelor's Degree from South Dakota State University in 2006, majoring in English. Matt then went on to receive a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University in 2011, specializing in Secondary Education and Teaching. In May 2022, they obtained a certification in Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere from Google.
