Michiel Vlietstra has a diverse work experience. Michiel worked at Realworks BV from February 2008 to the present, starting as a Webdesign/development specialist before becoming a Java Developer Trainee and eventually a full-fledged Java Developer. Before that, from September 2006 to February 2007, Michiel was a Servicedesk Trainee at Nissan Motor Part Center (NMPC).

Michiel Vlietstra began their education in the field of software engineering at Regio College Zaandam from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued further studies at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2009 to 2013, specializing in software engineering. Throughout their education, they completed additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2013, Michiel obtained the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer certification from Oracle. Later, in 2016, they achieved the Oracle Certified Master, Java SE6 Developer certification. Lastly, in 2023, Michiel obtained the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org. These certifications demonstrate their continuous dedication to professional growth and development within their field.
