Chief Operating Officer, Managing Partner at ReadySet

Rachel Marcuse has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Rachel is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner at ReadySet, a boutique consulting firm focused on creating equitable and inclusive work environments. Under their leadership, the company has experienced significant growth in both staff and revenue.

Prior to their role at ReadySet, Rachel operated their own consulting firm, Rachel Marcuse Consulting, specializing in areas such as People Operations/HR, Organizational Development/Change, Facilitation, Operations, Learning and Development, and Strategic Planning. Rachel worked with clients from a wide range of industries including The Social Practice, NextGen America, TomKat Ranch, and MiddleSeat, among others. Additionally, they provided executive coaching services to organizations such as Defender's Association of Philadelphia, GetThru, FileCoin, and NextGen America. Rachel also completed an organizational assessment and provided design recommendations for the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

Rachel Marcuse also held leadership positions at NextGen America, where they served as the Vice President of People Operations/HR. During their time there, they oversaw all aspects of People Operations and played a crucial role in scaling the organization from 23 to nearly 1,000 staff members. Rachel was responsible for running one of the largest and most successful youth voter contact programs in the U.S.

Earlier in their career, Rachel worked at Outbrain as the Senior Director of Global Learning and Organizational Development. Rachel led the development and implementation of the "Outbrain Learns" program, which focused on employee development, job-specific training, and on and off-site learning for over 450 staff members across multiple global locations. Rachel also managed HR for the San Francisco and Chicago offices and played a key role in the company's growth from 80 to 450+ staff members.

Rachel Marcuse's experience also includes working as the Executive Director and Campaign Manager at Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE), where they were involved in campaign management, and as the Campaign Manager for the Campaign to Re-Elect Jenny Kwan, successfully managing a high-profile provincial election campaign.

Earlier in their career, Rachel held roles at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Vancouver International Fringe Festival, BC NDP, and McGill University.

Rachel Marcuse completed their BA Honours in Sociology from McGill University from 2002 to 2006. Rachel then pursued an MS degree in Organizational Change Management from The New School between 2011 and 2012.
