Romain Chapel began their career in 2012 as a Seasonal Worker at RTE R\u00e9seau de Transport d'Electricit\u00e9. In 2015, they became an Intern at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where they developed a Windows tablet application to make it easier for a Police Officer to fill in a road accident report and improved the diagram drawing plugin. In 2016, they were a Software Engineer and Intern at Safran Identity & Security\u00a0. In 2017, they became a Research and Development Engineer at Rakuten France, where they reworked the website monolithic architecture to a microservice architecture and managed Search Relevance, SEO crawlers and tracking partners. Since 2019, they have been a Technical Lead and Scala/TypeScript developer at ReachFive, where they have implemented features on an authentication server (OpenID connect, Fido2) and created a credentials stuffing protection solution.
Romain Chapel completed their Baccalauréat in Sciences at Lycée Marie Curie de Vire from 2006 to 2009. From 2010 to 2013, they studied Mathématiques at Université de Caen Normandie, obtaining a Licence. From 2013 to 2016, they studied Computer Science, Electronic Banking and Cryptology at ENSICAEN - Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Caen, and obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng). Romain also completed a Master 2 (M2) E-Secure in Computer Security and Biometrics at Université de Caen Normandie from 2015 to 2016.
