David Nicewinter has extensive work experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on emergency planning and operations. David is currently serving as the Director of Emergency Operations at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Prior to this role, they worked at IEM as a Senior Emergency Planner, where they conducted disaster preparedness assessments, developed operational plans, and provided staff augmentation for major disasters. David also has experience at Tampa International Airport, where they served as the Airport Operations Manager, overseeing terminal management and emergency planning. David was responsible for managing the airport's emergency plans, acting as a liaison with local emergency management offices, and coordinating emergency exercises. Additionally, David has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Aviation Emergency Response Organization and held positions at Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and US Air Express/Piedmont Airlines. David Nicewinter CM, MEP began their education at Averett University in 1991 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Airway Science Management in 1995. These certifications include being a Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) from FEMA, which they obtained in April 2020. David is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives, obtained in November 2017. Furthermore, they hold a Private Pilot - Single Engine Land certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, which they obtained in September 1990.
