Edward James Smith is a Machine Learning Researcher at RBC Borealis since January 2023, with previous experience as a Visiting Researcher at Facebook AI focusing on 3D deep learning (October 2019 - November 2022) and a Researcher at NVIDIA (March 2019 - August 2019). Earlier roles include a Software Developer Intern at wrnch (May 2016 - September 2016), where Edward developed a complete pose estimation pipeline using Convolutional Neural Networks, and various programming and IT consulting positions at JSS Medical Research from 2014 to 2015. Edward also has tutoring experience at the Math Education Centre and Marianopolis College. Edward holds a PhD in Computer Science from McGill University, where studies extended from May 2016 to December 2023, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Honours Mathematics and Computer Science from McGill (2013 - 2016) and a DEC in Pure and Applied Science from Marianopolis College (2011 - 2013).
